Will the toppling of ACORN do more than lawmakers thought?

Glenn Greenwald and Alan Grayson...

This is going to be an interesting story to watch as it progresses. Could it really be this easy to get rid of a lot of corruption in DC? My guess is no. They'll find a work-around, or the law won't be followed. Looks like a lot of lawmakers shot themselves in the foot, or rather, shot their friends in the face.

So you actually want the government to not do any business whatsoever with every single company on this list? Seriously?

Saw this earlier and lol'd.

Grayson is a district over from me, but he's awesome. It'll definitely be interesting to see how this plays out.

Unless they're being honest...NO.

Otherwise we're actively supporting taxpayer theft.

The House and Senate bills still need to be reconciled and the ACORN stuff can be dropped, altered etc. ACORN should deffo be broken up since it's a renegade operation chock full of kooks, radicals and domestic enemies. Salon saying ACORN has never been found guilty of anything doesn't mean it cant be and it doesnt mean the dozens of workers routinely convicted of registration fraud and the chaos/stress it brings to elections (an intention of Wade Rathke who admires Cloward-Piven) takes place in isolation. Convicted workers say that ACORN puts them up to it. Whistelblower Anita MonCrief said ACORN was taking orders from Obama campaign in 08. ACORN = Dem party mafia. Unfortunately there are dozens and dozens of organizations just like ACRON now - it's a metastasized malignancy.

^^ Radical kook ^^

The whole writeup is bullshit.

Nothing can ever be discussed with "the left" without the counter-argument of war spending being brought up

Discuss them separately.

Okay, but since that's the game, I'll play along too 😛 Looking at all the potential unintended consequences writing this ACORN defunding bill so quickly may cause, just imagine all the negative unintended consequences that could come out of a government take-over of healthcare when we all *know* the bill is so large and so complex it is incomprehensible to even those who know how to read such things.

It all makes me curious, though, as this raises even more questions. Couldn't they just not grant them more money going forward without this legislation? Or do they have a certain amount already committed to giving them and this is what they're taking away? How much is that?

Did you not even read the OP or listen to the audio?

You cannot detach war profiteering from this conversation...since....this is about how the legislation pulling funding from ACORN is also applicable to all of these defense contractors.

Maybe I'm missing something.
