Something like this is much more appropriate these days.

Edit: Actually, it looks too much like Open icons.

Yeah, I dunno.

This happens to a friend of mine.

"To save your work, click on the save icon. It looks like a floppy disk, err....Honda logo"

Speak for yourself. I still used a floppy until July this year:

That Cooler Master case is my most favorite case to build ever. I have built probably 35+ of them at work and I like it so much I ended up getting one for myself as well.

How about a stack of bills?

The only issue I see with changing the icon is that it's been around for so long that it's pretty much ubiquitous. Changing it would confuse a hell of a lot of people, especially older users. In order for a change to work it would have to be introduced subtly and slowly to the masses by the big software makers.

how about a life preserver icon?

Interesting way to look at it, but I think the connotations for a life preserver are too different from those of a disk or say, folder for it to make complete sense.

The icon Lifted posted is a good direction to take IMO.

You and I must be soul mates. The Coolermaster Elite is simply one the best cases ever made IMO. Easy to manipulate drive space and fan configs, well ventilated and versitile all for around $35.00.

I currently have both mechanical drives suspended on one side with a fan blowing on them to cool on the other side.

Versitile!

To top all of it off, the power supply is mounted on the top rear of the case (where it should be)! None of that bottom mounted non-sense.

I was thinking the same thing wondering if youngins had any clue wtf the floppy disk image was about. I think it will soon be a fluffy cloud, seeing how servers are the new hdd.

Maybe with an up arrow beneath it.

Brilliant!

Jesus coming out of the clouds can be the new save icon. This needs to be a new standard as of now.

Then all the atheists will want to sue the companies making the software to replace it with a devil fork or something.
