This has been more contentious than a presidential election year! I'm sure ready for this debacle to be over so we can move on and talk about other important issues.

But because of the stark differences in opinion and passionate objections there are likely to be legal challenges and people who just won't give up the fight regardless of how the vote comes out Sunday.

Do you think the majority of the partisan war of words will be over come Sunday with just a fading grumble, or will the arguments carry on and perhaps grow more intense?
 
Who needs bi-partisan bickering when you have bickering within the (D) party alone?

The real liberals understand that this PoS bill is a handout to the insurance companies.

The more centrist democrats (like on this forum) dont really care that there is no Public option, they are just going to be happy that a bill passes, thinking that it will make Obama appear to have done something.
 
It won't end over this issue. Something this big that will affect every American, their children and grandchildren, and something that a majority of people do not want... why should the bickering stop? I think all the lawsuits are going to get ugly and will prevent the government from enacting any type of effective healthcare reform. Forget about all the other issues going on in the world and across the nation.

The bickering on the healthcare issue will continue for ages, and partisan bickering will happen on other issues as well.

Bill passes. Repubs will bitch and complain and carry on how this will destroy our economy. The Dems will say OHH IN YOUR FACE. SUCK IT BITCHES!!!! ect.

I don't see why. The next item up on the agenda is amnesty for illegals. Schumer and Lindsey Graham are spearheading it.
 
It's pretty much stopped now given the Rep's shift to "wait until November" whining. Did Boehner schedule his little speech just to give Fox News something to run instead of Obama's?

Fail. There will be a vote on both the reconciliation bill and the core bill. Deem and pass is really just a cosmetic procedure, more form than substance. The repubs have used it over 200 times, and I can't recall anyone saying it wasn't a real vote on any of those occasions.

Anyway, yeah, the partisan bickering will stop when hell freezes over.

No, it will never stop. The PoS bill will pass, the Democrats will take credit, and then in several years, when everyone realizes what a huge mistake it was, the Democrats will find ways to blame the Republicans.

NY Times said Obama would use executive orders to advance ALL portions of his scheme - erm - plan. Next Slim is going to ram immigration, then probably some cap and trade scam via EPA - then maybe the civilian security force equal to military he said he wanted.

Clearly the strife is just heating up and not close to going away. The loyalists who blocked revolution and slavery defenders who broke the union now have company with Barack Obama and his useful dopes.

I'm tired of voting-in children to these offices. On both sides.

What difference does the size of the bill make in assessing whether it is a valid procedure? I have never understood this argument, not when applied to either reconciliation or deem and pass. Either the procedures are constitutional and legal (and/or ethical), or they aren't. Deem and pass isn't a "real vote" when it's done for a repub bill that may be a smaller bill but somehow a phoney vote if it's done for a large dem bill. This is a totally illogical argument.

While the Republicans are campaigning on rolling back health care reform, the Dems will be campaigning on job creation and the economy.
