I have been surfing everywhere including this forum to find this out.

does anyone know if you will be able to run two G71's in SLI, and maybe finally start using the 2x16 pipes on a A8N32-SLI MOBO?

thanks.

I don't think the 2x16 is for pipes on the motherboard. It just means it has 2 dedicated PCI-E x16 slots that can handle more data than 2 x8 slots. And yes I do believe the G71 will be able to run in SLI.

So rich...

And yes, what thilan said is correct. G71 would undoubtedly be able to run SLI, the question is how much power will it take?

It may in fact be less power hungry than the 512 GTX, given the 90nm core.

I also have a G5. Nice Mouse. Had an MX510 that died on me in less than 8 months. :(

I can't wait to get 2 G71's and some DD waterblocks. :D Hope it's early March at the latest.

A bigger concern for you IMO is if it will be dual slot or not. That motherboard is awesome, but having the only usable PCI slot for your X-Fi (when two dual slot cards are used) inbetween the PCI-E slots is problematic I am a fan of Asus motherboards, and this would be on the top of my list, except for the placement of the PCI-E slots. Asus kept the idea of having two slots inbetween the PCI-E 16x slots, but screwed up by moving them down a slot.

Nice PC indeed, although I think you're skimping on the RAM somewhat... ;)

It'll be a while before you see games that use all the bandwidth the PCI-E x16 slots provide. And yes, the G71's will have SLI. Nice rig btw.

I see he has a 22inch CRT. That probably goes to pretty insane resolution.

TSS,

I really like the Kandalf case. I have the aluminum version, which acts like a heat sink in itself. it was a dream building with this thing. so much room to move around in, and little things that make it nice:

ability to move the power button/light assembly, easily up or down the front of the tower. each blank front panel insert has a foam filter to help reduce dust intake into the case. a really nice power supply support, and the ability to fit a BIG PSU in the case. completely tool free slots. front and back locations for HDD's, etc. great PCI card lock-down system. It's well worth the money IMO.
