Will the Global Win VEK12 work with slot A Athlon?

I recently purchased an Athlon from a guy here and he included a Global Win VEK12 fan that he said did not work on Athlons. I ordered another. Then when the fan from the guy came in, it looked like the clamps and all fit up perfectly to the Athlon. I read reviews for the fan and saw they were excellent, but when written they were for the Pentium 2. The review said that they "might" also fit the K7 when it came out. The review said they really have good air flow, etc., so I am wantiing to know if I might use it. If it matters, it is a 550 that was hard moded to run at 850. Thanks for the help. Daniel
