Though it "might" solve some problems we have as humans... I don't think I ever want to see different languages die out. It's losing part of your culture and I really value culture.

Yes, you're right. All except for South Africa were British colonies to begin with. I believe South Africans speak Dutch or "Afrikaans" (their variation of Dutch). Maybe they speak English as well. Anyone know?

Also, guapo337, language doesn't necessarily define your culture. Look at the differences between Americans, Australians and British, for example.
