I saw this article on Forbes this afternoon:
http://blogs.forbes.com/elizabethwoyke/2011/01/13/will-tablets-split-into-two-classes/

Despite the flood of recent announcements it’s still early days for the tablet industry. Trends are already forming, however, and RBC Capital Markets has spotted an interesting one: a growing divide between 7-inch and 10-inch tablets.

The current generation of tablets generally falls into one of these categories. Apple’s iPad, for instance, has a 10-inch screen while Samsung’s Galaxy Tab measure 7 inches (diagonally). A number of other companies, including Research In Motion, Cisco and Dell are preparing to launch 7-inch tablets. LG, Motorola and Toshiba, meanwhile, are in the 10-inch camp, at least for now.

They go on to say that 7" tablets seem to trend towards havign 3G+WiFi integrated and being carried by telecom carriers while 10" tablets are trending towards WiFi-only and thus would likely be sold at stores like Best Buy.

It's an interesting prediction.

It'd be great to have the choice for 10" and 7". Gives us all more options in this still growing segment. Some people want smaller screens for a smaller overall device or want the largest experience they can get. This is going to be a great year coming for tablets.

there will be 3rd class, people that have replaced old smart phones that are out of contract but still work fine on wifi. and they won't be used as phones.

I can see two classes - Apple followed by all the rest. :)
