Will super glue hold?

Was thinking about putting a bigger heatsink on my OEM ATI and some ramsinks and trying for at least 275/275. I can run the artifact tester at 275/275 and it tests 0 artifacts but in 3Dmark2003 when that dude in the lobby is running his fist turns into a sword :D. I figured it was because the memory. Does artifacts mean the ram is overheating and needs more cooling? Anyway I was thinking about using thermal tape for the ramsinks(incase I decide to take them off and uses super glue on all 4 corners of the GPU and put some heatsink compound in the middle.

Id rather not fool with having to put another heatsink on if I don't have to.

BTW I tried all the way up to 300 on the core and artifact tester still tested 0.

i would NOT use super glue.
for one thing, it doesnt transfer heat as well as thermal epoxy, tape, compound, etc. also, if it doesnt work, youre going to have one hell of a time getting it off. your best bet is to use thermal epoxy (such as arctic silver epoxy), so it will hold and transfer heat.

arctic silver "epoxy" will hold any heatsink on permanently, while still giving heat ransfer.
normal mixture is 50-50, so if you dilute it more, it will be weaker and be easier to twist off
only put mixture in center ~3/4" circle - where all the heat is

artifacts mean the ram is being pushed too far, not heat
ramsinks on vram is very minor factor in O/C

so in other words I shouldnt even bother with the ramsinks?

Thats true. If you look around its almost impossible to find info that shows that ram sinks consistantly allow for higher overclocking.

I've been using Radio Shack heat paste in the center and super glue on the corners for video card heatsinks with no problems for years. The heatsink removes very easily later if you so desire.

Also speaking as someone who has actually tried this method and used it for years, it works fine. If anything with superglued sinks you have be be a little careful because they'll knock off easily if bumped - talking about corner glued sinks like you'd be doing. Never had one fall off because of heat.

Thermal paste in center with tiny dots of superglue in corner work best. Terrific heat transfer and the sinks won't fall off but can be easily removed. Do not use all superglue ....ity is a POOR thermal conductor.
