Hi.
Does anyone know if Service Pack 2 for WinXP will have everything from SP1 & all the updates since SP1 in it?
Or just the stuff between either one, and SP1 will also be needed?

Thanks in advance.

Service packs have always been cumulative. SP2 contains all SP1 hotfixes. You do not need to install SP1 before installing SP2.

I read around 125Mb.

Im enquiring not for me;
I have a friend, LOADS of problems on her PC, and before i go for the reinstall problem, im gonna try updating everything, doing a complete AV scan, Defrag, adaware scan & various other things to get it working as it should. And if all that fails, then i`ll just format/install again!

Remeber: Service packs don't add files. They replace them. An increased size would have to do with the new versions of the files being larger. The largest thing in SP2 will probably be WMP10.

Yahoo link...

"Among the changes, it automatically turns on a firewall to better guard against attempts to infiltrate personal computers."

That's cool.

I remember when i used NT4 this was not the case, although they said it was there was some file that was included in previous SP's that was missing, it screwed up database connections via JDBC, i cannot remember what it was but it took forever to figure it out and users were furious.

It's just a GUI extension of a bunch of services.
