Present cpu is a pentium d 3.0 800 mhz fsb. Some of the info I found says a e4300 will work. What about e4700? Have seen newer models of the 945p support 1066 but I am not getting my hopes up. Contacted sony their reply was useless.

The chipset can support all current C2D 65nm and 45nm (but not quad core, based on the absence of any 945 boards supporting quad). The PCB power path circuitry may or may not.

From what I have read so far the chipset might if it was not proprietary but if tried would it hurt the chip. Thanks for any replies.
