Try to autoboot a Win2000 or Win98 installation CD while you still have WinXP installed... Im trying to figure out if its possible...

...because before the BIOS hands off the boot process to a disk, it hasn't read anything from the hard drives - so the BIOS has no idea what is or isn't installed. A bootable CD is always bootable provided that the BIOS supports CD-booting at all.

Set your CD to the first boot device..Will boot off anything that is in there that is bootable.

I gotta ask, even if you miss the concept entirely, couldn't you just test it yourself ??

First rule of newsgroup/forum postings; It's always faster to ask others to do something or answer a question than doing it yourself. Even if it would appear to an outside observer that it physically took you longer to type the question than perform the test, you actually save time. It's a time dillation thing... :)
