Nothing is wrong with tourism.Although I agree, but so what? You make it sound like tourism dollars are bad. 2006 was the largest tourism year for the USA at about 52 million visitors, and over $110 billion in revenue. Its huge business, and a relevant source of revenue.
I lived in Orlando for years and the city is awesome in part because of all the tourism dollars.
My point wasn't that tourism dollars are bad, but that San Fran is an illusion. Liberals point to it and say 'look at how amazing liberalism is!' while ignoring the fact that their liberal utopia is built on tourism dollars that come from outside the city. Take away that huge source of money and San Fran becomes Oakland.
