Will SBC lower my DSL bill?

Currently I'm on a $40/month contract which lasts for a year and started a few months ago..and now they're offering the same service for $35 (I think). If I called is there a chance they'll lower it?

Since you are under contract, I seriously doubt they will lower your bill. You can offer to renew from this point.

Ask them if they will lower it if not, tell them you'll switch. 😀

Well, I still have 10 months left on my contract..so that's not really an option.

You're screwed then. A contract is a contract, they will not renew one unless they're making more money from ya. 🙂

contracts are the bane of good deals. You should have looked for a no contract deal.

Not really....I'm on contract with SBC for a year on a 29.99 dollar DSL package. Worth every penny spent. 😀

Well in this case it is. I get free dsl from my company and still recieving it even tho I no longer work for them 😀 Free for life contract !

I had a more expensive contract too, called them up & they switched me to the $29/month plan, no problem.😀

yeah.. i had the 40/month contract too; i called to switch and whoever cust rep i spoke told me that the offer was for new customers only..i wasn't in the mood to haggle so i called again. I was told the same story---deal only for new customers!!! Called the following day, and that time i was ready for a fight, but the the lady who answered this time was like, ' yeah, we'll get u on that plan.'

Well, then a month later, i find out i have to move, and wasn't too happy with the 50 dollar moving fee imposed and the fact that i would be with out dsl for 15 days, so I provided my moving address to be a non-sbc serviced state and the contract was immediately voided!!!!
Now loving my cable for 21/month and higher speeds too....

i once threaten to switch when my contract was up and the lady said, "ok, hold on. Let me pull up the account so we can get started."

I asked to move from the $50 plan to the $30 and it went without a fight. But then again, my contract was already up and i doing month to month.

SBC is one of the worst companies I've ever dealt with.

Horribly managed.

Agreed, I called to get my bill straightened out for the 4th month in a row last week, errors are always in their favor...

You have to call them everyday, just to keep them on their toes. Theres only one way to deal with this sort of company, keep haggling with them. They will soon get the message, Its a pain but what choice do you have when they couldn't even tell from left to right. They probably think I'm crazy or something but hey that's life they need to deal with it and learn to do thing the right way so there would be a lot less people like me who's annoying the hell out of them for failing to do their jobs right.
