With much of the new england recovering, voter turn out in the typically democratic stronghold is sure to be lower. Could it tip the scales in Romney's favor?

Obama losing the popular vote but winning the electoral college would be a little funny.

but to the actual question, no.

I doubt it, Democrats likely heeded the warning to get out this time.

Was global warming an elaborate ploy by Republicans to swing the 2012 election in their favor? They are more insidious than I thought, all that science hating was just for show to hide their true intentions...

It will only tip the scales in Romney's favor if the Democrats don't show up to the polls because of the weather but the Republicans still do. That seems unlikely, especially given Romney's poll numbers in some of those locations.

Romney/Ryan will win because they are the right choice for the country, barring a last minute October, now November, surprise.

Sandy will not be a factor by this weekend, much less next Tuesday.

As further information on Benghazi and the state of the economy/unemployment comes out, look for further deterioration of any chance Obama has to even come close to the numbers the Rs pull in.

Think 2010, not 2008.

Sandy is a blue state event. NJ , CTand NY were going Obama anyway. If anything it will cut down on the Dem organizational abilities and lower the vote count for Obama. Other States won't care about a storm in NY and NJ.

You mean it's only going to affect D voters? Weird weather phenomenon.

It's not Katrina x 2 unless you meant financially speaking. The coastal areas of Sandys victims are still somewhat intact, after Katrina hit there literally was nothing left and an entire city was destroyed.

If anything wouldn't it be the other way round. Republican voters tend to be more rural. I would suspect that rural voters have a harder time voting after a major disaster.

Nope Romney lost before it even started. The media was trying to make it seem closer than it was for ratings. Might this cost Obama the popular vote sure but the electoral college has been wrapped up since Romney won the nomination. Romney had to have ohio and several other swing states that he had very little chance of winning.

Nope, Haven't read a single report yet that says Obama flopped on responding to Sandy. It might make people like him more, actually.

Where did you hear that Clinton was being laughed out of MN? Minnesota has been consistently Blue for since...well since about 1932, and before that the Reds were equivalent to current days Blues, so really since the states inception. It would be a massive flip for MN to switch.

MN has not voted for a Republican for President in 40 years. The chances of Romney winning here are, as a practical matter, identical to his odds of being struck by an asteroid between now and the election.

I didn't know you were a Minnesotan. Do you have an interest in wagering, say, $250 on whether MN goes for Romney? You seem very confident, and I am very confident MN will go to Obama.
