Will removing the thermal pad of GF3 void the warrany?

As the title says... Many ppl are doing it but are they not afraid of voiding the warranty in case sth goes wrong with the vid card?:confused:

In my experiences with my distributor. They reject items that have been tampered with. So they do not honor the warranty if they believe the User caused the problem.

Which is how it should be I guess.

technicaly yes, but you could always clean the chip and reatach a similar pad, and the original fan.

If the card is working fine and you have had no issues I would just throw arctic silver on, if something happens put frag tape on it like quark5 says!

I guess that might or might not full them as thermal tapes have different colours so if they pay attention... I just don't know whether I should take my chances considering the card works as is at 250 MHz core clock. It might be getting too hot though, which could reduce its lifespan and I wouldn't know it as the core unfortunately doesn't have thermal monitoring.
