Will RAM Sinks make any difference?

BTW I'm talking about video card memory (sorry for any confusions). I've got a Radeon 9700 Non pro and the RAM doesn't care to be overclocked much. My friend was telling me RAM Sinks don't do squat but he got a set with his GPU Cooler and he applied them and he says he was able to overclock his memory further than before without artifacts. I heard that the Radeon 9XXX series memory gets quite warm and might consider buying some for my card if it will help aid me in ocing the memory just a little further.

on my older ti4200 ram sinks (for bga when i had tsop ram) helped net a small 5mhz increase of speed. my new 4680 has bga ram has sinks on it but i dunno how much they really help overall.......perhaps some tweak monsters would help out better.
