I just put in 10 hours overtime for a pc deployment then got home and realized I forgot the pizza in the office. It's in the box but not in a fridge. Is it safe to eat it tomorrow after microwaving it? I'll go back and pick it up for lunch.

If it has become sentient then it has been out to long.

If it does not move yet then you are safe to eat it.

hmm I forget what we got on there, like 3 types of meats, extra meat, olives, mushrooms. I'll keep that in mind about stuff moving though. That means I should leave it in the microwave longer if there's stuff moving on it? :p

Yeah, in the fridge for 3 days.

LOL, where did YOU go to college?

If it smells fine and tastes fine, it probably won't make you sick. Our senses evolved over millions of years to tell us what is good to eat and what is not; it's sad that the modern era has caused us to lose all that and trust the printing on a package 100%.

From my college days, pizza wouldn't last the night. Must be a bunch of anorexics that can't finish a pizza within three days.

Would you eat a hamburger that was laying out for three days?

You won't be able to detect the most dangerous bacteria with your nose. The amount that takes to make you sick is below what you'd notice. Some of the strong smelling ones aren't even unhealthy.

Humans have a brain that lets them know to store food properly, so we don't have to rely on our sense of smell. Humans have a very poor sense of smell.

3 day at room temp pizza I wouldn't eat. Maybe "two" max, meaning ~36 hours.

A hamburger is different. It's a thick piece of meat. The toppings on a pizza are generally small, thin, and get the crap cooked out of them.

As someone who worked at a pizza place and lived almost exclusively off the stuff for two years, yes.

Seriously, me thinks the OP never went to college.

Oh I've been to college, but all I ever ate there was poutine. Probably knocked at least 5 years off my life, that's not counting the 3 years of college itself which are basically a waste of my life so may as well not count them. :p

10 hours? Bah, that's nothing. Left a pizza out for 12-24 hours and just threw a few slices in the microwave and nuked them, many many times this past year.

I've never heard of someone being unable to finish a pizza in 3 days. I usually eat mine lunch and part of dinner.

There are so many preservatives in the ingredients that it'll probably be ok for < 24 hours. Kinda lazy if there's refrigeration available though. Refrigerated, it'll last ~two weeks.

I personally wouldn't eat it, especially with three different kinds of meat toppings, but I don't think it'd kill you. Possibly cause a bit of an upset stomach, but likely no death.
