Will Panflo H1A fans work with 3-pin motherboard connector?

Just curious if the Panflo H1A fans were three pin compatible - I recently purchased an 'untailed' version and a 3 pin connector. I plan on mounting it on my HS and plugging it into the mobo. Thanks.

Ya, it's a 2.1 watt fan and I heard 4 watts is the cutoff for a motherboard header (after which you risk meltdown.)

I'm assuming you mean the 80mm fan... :disgust: Should work. But why would you want to do that? Just choose the option for the 4-pin and use that. Guaranteed compatibility, and if you decide to add more chipset/gpu fans, you can still use your mobo headers.

Yes, it's an 80mm - sorry.

Using a three pin header will allow me to monitor the RPMs - also, I'm thinking about purchasing the MSI KT266A offering and people are reporting that if it doesn't detect a fan on the HS header, it will give you a warning on boot-up.

Thanks for the help.
