Will PAL DVDs play on my HTPC

I have an HTPC with the LG HD-DVD/Blu-Ray combo drive in it connected to a Panasonic TC-32LX70 LCD TV via HDMI. Now I'm interested in buying some DVDs off ebay but they are PAL.

Here is my question:

Will these PAL DVDs play on my HTPC? Or will I need to get a different optical drive or a separate DVD player altogether?

Thanks,
Agman

This is decided by software. Generally programs will ask you to set a region code. You can make a certain amount of changes before being "final".

So I can't have optical drive that will play both PAL and NTSC DVDs at the same time? Without having to go through those limited changes.

I believe you can. If you go into device manager you can set the DVD drive region. You'll just need to have one set for one regions and the other set for another.
