Wanting to buy a new computer that runs Windows XP home, I have Office 97 and am wondering if I will be able to use it on WindowsXP. I have 97 files on my old computer that I must be able to access on this new computer, I must know if it will work before I purchase this machine.

PS I am asking this question for someone, and please I do not have much other info, nor do I have the ablility to test this out. Thanks.

To answer your question, yes, Office 97 will install and work fine on Windows XP home/pro edition. Your probably wondering because you have Office 97 on cd but if you do have a newer version of Office including Office XP your older files will convert just fine. Most Office docs even open back and forth between versions without conversion.

Sure, It will work fine. There are some small bugs that may pop up though.
