Will Nvidia's best going to be the top card for Doom 3 *now* ??

Do you think they would completely cease any special optimizations for the Ati cards after this whole beta-leak? Or is everything pretty much dx9 spec? I wonder if this is the break that Nvidia might be looking for. Instead of being, "powered best by ATI," it might be, "best powered by Nvidia." What do you think?

If the Doom 3 leak changes anything, I doubt it will be what video card is #1. I think we're going to hear some harsh words from Him(John Carmack) on Monday though.

I don't see what the big deal is about the beta leak... I mean yeah its not a finished product but probably only a few hundred ppl got access to it and are using it....

Well theoretically NV30 will get spanked in Doom3 simply because of the parts involved.

NV30: 128bit interface with DDR-2
NextGen-Radeon: 256bit interface with DDR-2

Theoretically the Radeon will have about 3gb more bandwidth.

Now, the real question is....

What will be the best card for Duke Nukem Forever!

I'll bet that the GeForce 12 46000 and Radeon 97000 should be out by then. 😀

Not any more. I was playing it earlier today. WOW. I want it bad!

Yeah, it's true. Many people are boasting they have it now. I will never be one of them, though, with my strong moral fibre and my dialup 🙁.

Doom III isn't DX9. And it is already optimized for the GF3/Radeon 8500 cards.

We need to know more about the "leak" before saying what Nvidia will do. They are run quite different that ego-eccentric Job's Apple Corp.

Who cares what the advertising reads - "best powered" is just advertising.

The "break" that Nvidia is looking for is NV30.

EDITED for technical accuracy. 😛

***ahem*** DoomIII is OpenGL 😀

The fact that ATI may be partially responsible/connected to the leak is irrelevent.
From a business perspective, many of his consumers (gamers) are going to be using ATI based cards, and it isn't THEIR fault ATI leaked Doom. So, why would he punish consumers that had nothing to do with it? He's still going to have to cater to ATI users and make his game perfectly functional on both cards.
