Why does everyone conveniently forget that ATI won 2 of the 3 test done in high-quality mode? That was with completely unoptimized drivers that only used half the memory of the 9800 Pro 256MB card, on Nvidia's own computers, against Nvidia's Doom3-optimized drivers that run a special, lower-quality path. Are you gonna buy a highend card to play at medium quality?

:( I don't care who PWN'S the videocards... I just want games....I've been holding on to Wolfie ET and MOHAA... I need some new stufff. This video card "optimizations" that these programmers are wasting their time with is making me impatient. Use the Standard Direct X9/OpenGL code and be done with it... leave the optimizations for the specialists (ATI/Nvidia) to finish it. Geez...programmers trying to perfect a game... they always come out with a service patch anyway. Damn man.. D3 is gonna be released next year... and HL2 was going to come out by the end of this month.. now could see a November release date.. :(

Why can't game companies do what ATI did with original Radeon 9700Pro... Don't mention ANYTHING about until it's gone Gold and ready to be shipped in 2 weeks time. :|

My 2 cents on D3. Gameplay should be like max paynes.... run through it once and it's gonna be repetative. MP will save the game... which is always good :D HL2 will probably have a lot of scenarios in which to beat a level... considering the demo at E3 it's gonna be good :D
