ok i just upgraded to DFI nf4 Ultra-D from my Asrock 939DualSATA2.

I try to boot with 300FSB but it stops at the end of post then restarts. Right now running 290FSB no problem and i was able to run 2700Mhz on my Asrock Prime95 Stable.

The only changes i have done in the bios are the following:

Set the mem timming to manfactor settings
LDT - 3x
CPU Voltage tried - 1.50v-1.62v
FSB - 300MHz
Divider tried - 133Mhz - 150Mhz

I am going to go play around some more but if you have some ideas that would be great.

Thanks,
Chris

You mean NF4, right? (First sentence) First, try one memory stick and if that doesn't work, lower the memory divider to 100Mhz. I have Mushkin PC4000 memory and Opteron 144 and my settings are:
LDT - 3X
CPU Voltage - 1.45V
Multiplier - 8.5
FSB: 318MHz!
Divider - 166MHz
= 2703MHz, memory at 245MHz

If you have sufficient airflow in your case, and have the space to mount it (not rubbing against graphics card), buy yourself a Zalman ZM-NB47J... They are very effective, even when you're overclocking...

EDIT:If you don't mind spending more on it (and can fit it of course), buy this one...

Oh yeah. Way to go !! Nice OC !!! Get the NB47J and use a 40mm fan on the side. That would be just great.

thanks,

both of those heatsinks look like it would hit the video card. my 7800Gt is liek 1mm away from, touching it. I wish they made something like Asus has from their top teir nf4 mobos, but this board didn't cost 200 bucks either.

I'll look into the zalman more and read about if other was able to make it work.

What would be the best way "do you think" is the best way to saw off some of these fins with such a small object to work with?

Speaking as i would have to buy these parts?

On a thread on another forum, may have been dfi-street.com, a guy had that zalman NB heatsink and he simply used a pair of long nosed pliers to bend and snap off the fins that got in the way, it worked great. I imagine you might make a neater job with a small, metal hacksaw though.

Don't know your situation, but you could work much more detailed with a small metal hacksaw... I mean, it might not be needed for some pins to completely break them off, so then you could measure it, and saw off only the pieces you need to... The more metal stays, the better it will cool too...
