Will my video card dispaly WS resolutions?

Sorry for the newb question but I have an ATI 9600 XT card and am considering purchasing a 19-20" WS monitor. Will my card properly display the WS resolutions or should I stick with a normal display monitor?? Also will the WS monitor display a 4X3 aspect ratio if I so choose with black bars on each side?? Thanks for any help with my decision!!

To the first question, yes it will work with widescreen

I cannot comment on Q2 as I don't have a WS monitor

SINCE YOUR ON ATI Q2 will depend on your monitor

For 1 yea, it'll display the WS resolution.

Now, if you get the bars depends on how it scales. With Nvidia there are options in the CP to have the driver scale it to screen size or to have the black bars but this doesn't work on some monitors (like mine, VX2025wm) and I'm not sure if the ATI drivers have something similar.
The monitor can also do the scaling/not scaling if the monitor does it natively.
