UPDATED WITH PICS!

hello,

We are deciding on a sectional and i need some advice as to if i can get it in my basement. The piece in question measures 44in deep and 35 in high with a length of 70in. My concern is that the stairwell downstairs is only 33 in wide. However my doors are also 33in wide. Do you think it will work?

...No single measurement of that piece of furniture is small enough to fit in your door. As a child did you ever have that toy where you had to stick the square and triangle in the proper slot?

I am well aware of thar fact however as far as i know i have a standard size door as do most peope. If angled or turned sideways is it reasonable to think it would fit?

I've owned two sectionals. The backs came off of both, except the corner unit.

I no longer own sectional couches.

This will make it fit into any hole....it will even make a triangle or square fit into the wrong hole. 🙂

Don't have enough information.

If your couch was a triangle, then the altitude would be around 27 inches, meaning it would fit, however, how high are the armrests, and how thick is the back? If the armrests are really low, and the back is very thin, then it may fit well...

I have a 34 inch door to my basement stairs with a 36 inch wide staircase... I was not able to fit my leather sofa down the stairs at all.

Note: I was able to fit a smaller sofa down easy, and got my dual recliners down as the backs came off..

Best option is to see if you can break it down at all... Otherwise, do the math ...

Most if not all sectionals come in pieces, the final assembly is at the destination. They don't come like how you see them in pictures.

BTW, here's another site you might want to check out, then kick yourself. www.furniture2go.com

SSSnail, I am aware that the unit is modular, I am hoping that we can get the biggest, non reclining piece (the wedge) in the basement!
