The seller of the mobo told me that it has the latest BIOS and it will work, but I couldn't find any info at the SOYO site.
I don't want to dismantle my pc to find out that it doesn't work.
Thanks for the help in advance.😉

Yes, i'm running a 550E@733-825 on my 6BA+IV. Just remember tho that at 133FSB the AGP will be 89mhz. At 150FSB its 100mhz, make sure ur vid card can handle it.

Ross, that is an excellent article, and I thank you for helping me in this matter. As I promise I will post an eval for you for the PIII.😉

Hi 🙂

I have a PIII 650 @ 820 in my Soyo 6BA+III (same as IV except no ATA66) ,runs fine ,though I have the occasional hard boot problems ,(nothing happens!) ,it's OK after a reset though.
And yes the info is hard to find at Soyo's site ,but it is there.I'll see if I can find it..........
hmm ,it used to say 'coppermine support added' in the 6BA family bios list ,but the bios that was added to is so old its gone!

Ah ha! ,they have finally updated the cpu support page 🙂 ,go here & choose 6BA family & select cpu support.
You will only see the 100MHz cpu's listed because that is all that is offically supported.
BTW you would be better off getting a 100 MHz FSB cpu & overclocking it ,cheaper to start with (eg a PIII 700 )& you will be able to hit a higher speed 🙂
