Will my older PSU work?

I'm upgrading most of my computer today. I have two concerns, one, the 525 watt PSU I have. Two, the cable lengths of a new PSU if I do in fact need a new one because of the case I have.
This is my parts list.

New Parts-
Motherboard: MSI 790FX-GD70
Processor: AMD PHENOM II X4 965 BE
CPU FAN: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus
Memory:OCZ AMD Black Edition 4GB DDR3 1600
Graphics Card:
XFX HD-577A-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 (Juniper XT) 1GB x2
Hard Drives:
Western Digital Caviar Black500GB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache x2

Old Parts-
PSU: Corsair HX 520w modular
Case: Antec P182
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar Green 1TB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache
DVD Drive: LG Blu-Ray Drive
CH08LS10

I really think the Graphics Cards are going to drain this. If I remove one, will it be okay?

The 5770 isn't really a power hog so you will be fine with 2x 5770 in Crossfire. Check the link below...The test system uses a overclocked i7, but power wise it shouldn't be much different than your setup. If you check the chart for loaded power the 5770 x2 is 390 watts (AC), and with a 80plus PSU is only about 315 watts (DC). Your Corsair 520w power supply will have plenty of power to spare.

Thanks dualsmp. That helped. I'm wrighting on the new rig right now! Big performance gains! All but the hard disks.

I am looking to build a similar system with similar power constraints, so I figured I'd chime in here rather than clutter up the place with a new thread.

This is my tentative build:

AMD Phenom II X2 550 Black Edition Callisto 3.1GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Processor

XFX HD-577X-ZNFC Radeon HD 5770 1GB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card (x1 no Crossfire... yet)

CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model TW3X4G1333C9A G

Western Digital Caviar Black WD5001AALS 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Sony Optiarc 24X DVD/CD Rewritable Drive Black SATA Model AD-7240S-0B

I want to keep my old Antec Smart Power 500w PSU if at all possible.
I need to get this old PSU tested as it's emitting a high pitched whine when it's running, but if it's still good, I'm hoping to reuse it.

I am also open to suggestions/critique of the build itself.

Thanks in advance.

Thank you. I'm hoping my old one checks out. If I decide to go Crossfire later on down the road, it'll be in conjunction with a PSU upgrade for sure.
