Have OCZ PC3200 in my Nforce 2 board now. Curious will it be fast enough to use if I upgrade to say Nforce 3/4?

OCZ PC3200 ram will be fine. In nForce3 boards right now DDR400 (PC3200) is the max ram you can use right now.

Dunno. Maybe, but I know it won't use anything lower. Might go up to PC4000, but who knows? You're fine with the ram you have now.

No. This is false. AMD chips have nothing to gain from DDR2, unlike Intel.

BTW last I read AMD wont be migrating to DDR2 for sometime, and its likely that they wont officially support anything higher than PC3200 for some time as well.

Nforce4 will use PCI-E though, so plan on getting a new vid card as well.

IC how much is DDR2 gonna cost compared to standard? Also how long will ATI/Nvidia continue to start supporting AGP if at all do you all think? Think they will support AGP in their next line of cards or is AGP about finished? Was thinking about upgrading to Nforce 3 but if they ain't gonna support AGP much anymore I think I will wait.

I'm wanting a 6600GT regardless so it comes down to wait for AGP version and upgrade to Nforce 3 or wait for Nforce 4 and get PCI-E version.

nf 4 will have the SAME ddr ram like nforce 3/2. What OCZ mem do you have ? The pcz 3200 plat El rev2? If yes..this is probably the best memory you can plug in there...i just got mine for my nf4 build.

It won't. AristoV300 just seems a little confused. He aparently didnt see this. (Look under mem slots)

The GPU Manufactureres will likely continue to produce AGP cards for at least another year or two. AGP isnt going to disappear in the blink of an eye. After all its going to be a while before PCI-E is a distrubuted as AGP, ATI/Nvidia would be foolish to pull support so soon. It would be comparable to shooting yourself in the foot.

Its just Performance Gold PC3200 Rev 2. Not the same stuff. Anyway I think I may just hold off on PCI-E for now. Besides I prefer to wait at least till some newer rev boards come out which can take months.
