will my geforce2 gts live without a fan?

I need to know what to do with my Hercules 3D Prophet II, Geforce 2 GTS 32meg (what a mouthful)...
The wires broke off the fan end when I pushed to them to make way for my cpu fan... and I didn't push hard at all, so that they were extended, only to push it slightly aside - in case you need to know whether I'm a screw up or not ;)
they looked very very thin indeed, no wonder they broke off.
I took it out and replaced it with my deadold viper 330 temporarily...
Anyway, I have no technical skill, and I can't really get it either, so soldering it back on is sort of out of my reach... :(

so my question is: would the geforce survive without the fan?
The heatsink is still on, and I'd be suprised if that tiny fan actually did much difference, but again I'm no technical expert, that's why I'm asking.

and I guess you need to know a whole load of how warm it is in my cabinet, but you ain't gonna get that, I need your take on it for "an average and above warm computer"...

Any respons would be greatly appreciated, and I apologize if this was posted in the wrong area. thanks.

I have a Visiontek GF2 GTS 64DDR card and the fan must hav died right after I got it - I looked at it 9 mos later and noticed it was siezed - and very very clean :p

The card ran fine that whole time - I took the fan off the HS and made a little HD cooler fan blow on the HS but I am not sure it was necessary.

But then - I had decent airflow through my case.

Try and get a fan on it somehow if you can - but I bet it will be fine either way.

You might try and just run it - play some Quake3 or something and if it locks, its prolly overheating - if not, I would not worry.

IMO, it will overheat and lock long before it melts - but then, thats my money back guarantee ;)

Use advice at your own risk, no warranty expressed or implied, batteries not included, some cars not for use with some sets, etc.
