my wife wants to get our 11 and 6 year old daughters an XBox DDR game thingy, something about dancing

I think that'll be a perfect gift for your daughters. It's a fun game and will get your kids exercising. Win win!
 
Its a huge craze in Asia.. the DDR is huge there... the girls seem to like it.. have they mentioned any intrest in it?
do they like other vid games?
if so sure its a good product
 
my 6 year old loves to jump around and stuff like that, pretend she is a ninja and is very athletic/active

the older one might have fun with it too, i dunno
 
It is a great idea...*BUT* the game itself is not really good for beginners as there are very few slow, n00b songs. It is more for the intermediate to advanced players.

yea, some of the songs are way too complex for beginners.. 🙁
 
Just find them a few easy songs and show them how to do it, otherwise there's a small chance they'll get turned off by failure. There should be a tutorial mode, anyhow.

no problem there, we live in a house in the middle of nowhere, and the kids have the downstairs to themselves, so it won't be too bad for noise/stomping
