2 gig ram
windows xp
geforce 7800
22 inch wide monitor
100 gig har drive

i hope i dont have to buy new stuff just to play this game!

Judging by those specs you will either have to wait for community mods that scale down the graphics, or you won't be able to play at all. 🙁

That's my semi-educated guess.

Your computer will probably be along the lines of the game's minimum specs. I'd expect something like a Core 2 Duo or Quad @ 3.0GHz / Core i5 or i7 @ 2.6+ GHz, 4GB of memory, decently speedy hard drive (modern 500GB platters or better), and GTX 260 or better for a good playing experience.

Keep in mind that your setup would have been considered good for playing Oblivion, which was released in 2005. It's almost six years later now.

There's been no requirements released yet. Too early to start planning upgrades specifically for it. Standard operating procedure, people. Wait for the game to be released, then discuss hardware.

I don't even think his processor is dual core. If that's the case, then I'm going to bet no. But like Bateluer said, too early to say for sure.

New engine so who knows. It wouldn't be a bad idea though to start saving money where and when you can to upgrade your machine.

If that's a 2.4 GHz Pentium 4, then no way.

Don't upgrade yet though. Wait until the game is released or just before if you must play it at launch.

Agreed. I think it's it's a P4 then you'd be lucky to get it loading up.

If it's a Dual Core, you're probably going to be minimum spec or very close. It might run alright at lowest settings at a low res..

**HOWEVER** (And this is important). You won't truly know until the game is out and people have first hand experience with it. Maybe save up and if your machine plays it, spend what you've saved on something special o just keep saving fr your next PC.

You'll definitely need an upgrade if you want it to run well at decent graphics settings. As someone mentioned earlier, your specs will probably be something along the bare minimum requirements.

If you're looking to upgrade, post a budget and there are many members on here that can configure you a Skyrim rig.

Start saving for a new build, it's ~10 months away anyway. There will probably be a new gen of video cards by then anyway, and you can scoop up a used 560/570/6950/6970 or so by then pretty cheap. Combo with whatever the deal is on a ~$150 cpu, midrange mobo, 4 or 8gb of ddr3, a 1tb 7200 drive, and you have a decent gaming rig. Boom!

LOL, you should stay in "scool" and learn some proper English/grammar before playing skyrim.

Yup. Been saving slowly since my last upgrade and until the next one, as usual. I'll try with my current hardware before deciding if I need to upgrade my video card and processor. Might o/c the old Phenom II to 3.6GHz and see if that is enough.

LOL @ old Phenom II. @ 3.6 to 3.8 you'd be pulling a 20K plus vantage mark. That's fast enough to handle *any* current game around. SkyRim isn't going to change that.

I doubt it. At least not to an enjoyable level...and that's assuming your CPU is Core2. That graphics card is old and your ram is on the low side.
