Will My Belkin Nostromo N52 (software) Work with Vista?

I may make the upgrade to Vista, but I won't if I can't use my Nostromo N52. I'd be one lost gamer without it.

Has anyone successfully been able to use a Nostromo N52 with Vista?

The Belkin site is where to look and inquire for this info. Win 2k/XP level drivers probably won't work with Vista - with Belkin you are lucky if you got XP drivers that worked. I don't see ANY updates there since April '06 and I wouldn't expect any. You'd also think there would be a question about Vista posted in the FAQ, wouldn't you? Nope!

I warn against buying Belkin stuff all the time - they don't have a realistic business model. Certainly almost NO money in it for maintaining/updating drivers. I hope I'm wrong for your sake.

The N52 will work fully with Vista x86 using the Windows XP drivers. Loadout Manager probably won't see the device until you fully power off your machine. No hassles with it other than the same ones you'd see under Windows XP.

Running under Vista x64 is a different animal altogether. I wouldn't recommend going that route if you depend on your N52. the results are sub par at best.

Frequently updated drivers/software is unnecessary unless the product actually needs it. I installed the software/driver for my n52 once and have had no problems with using it since. If the software/driver doesn't work with Vista yet, all Belkin needs is a stable release that does support it and that may be all they need - one release.

*bows to Gowrilla* I have been trying to get something out of belkin for vista for the nostromo. I am so glad you posted them. Thanks a bunch!

hello all
i installed nostromo_v3g.exe drivers but loadout manager still dont see my nostromo n50
btw i got Vista business 32bit
sry for my english 🙂

I'm having the same problem, anyone have any ideas. Turning my computer comletely off didn't do anything. Vista shows the Nostromo driver is woring fine but the Nostromo Loadout manager still shows grey and doesn't recognise it. I too am using the v3g drivers under Vista Ultimate.

I installed the 3g version of the software (run as administrator) first and then plugged in the n52 and it works fine.

<<Nostromo n50 on VISTA : yes you can !

Hi,

for those who are still interested, I would like to present you a homebrew software suite that permit to use the Nostromo N50 on Vista 32 bits (I did not tried it out in VISTA 64 bits and it should work in Windows 7 Wink )

Key features :
- No need to install special drivers from belkin, generic Vista drivers are sufficient : it works out of the box !
- Programming levels (Red/Green/Blue) are fuly supported.
- You can map any key or key combination to the N50 (even multimedia keys)
- Its freeware
- Software is in english
- Tested with a few games like Crysis
- The zip file comes with a help file in french and a help file in English
- Works better than a 52te Grin

Do not hesitate to try and give your feedback.
Enjoy, its N50 revival !
