I myself have a system with the Asus p3v4x in it. As for your question if the board supports te tualatin core, I doubt it as I have not seen a bios update for this core as of yet. I noticed that asus rarely updates that section of the site, so the chances of us being able to use the tualatin core with this board are slim to none.

Nope, the Tualatin is not compatible with the Via Apollo Pro 133A chipset that motherboard utilizes. Fastest processor available it could take is a 133MHz FSB Pentium III 1GHz.

no, it would be a 1.1GHz p3 or celeron!

The 1.1GHz PIII is only available on a 100MHz FSB,m and given how heavily FSB dependent on the FSB speed the P6 core is the 1GHz processor on a 133MHz FSB is actually considerably faster, the same goes with the Celeron 1.1GHz

Beau, a member since the start in Oct 99 and FOUR posts??? HAHAHA

sorry i just found that amusing...

As for the specs without any extra stuff needing done, the fastest CPU you could just 'plug in' would be a PIII 1GHz.

Lurking in the Hot Deals section.

Lots of great people out here - by the time I get ready to post, someone else has already given a most excellant answer.

PS - The Adapter above includes a T1.3Ghz / Fan & Slocket
