ur kidding right? a good 250watt power supply could handle that.

think logically. all those computers running on non premium power supplys must be running at 2mhz :)

as the question when you have dual overclocked p4's, a raid array of 15k rpm harddrives, water cooling, extreme high end videocard etc.

Even if the 430 antec can't handle your system, what is your next alternative. An at-home power substation straight from the electric company? 430 watts is a serious supply. ;)

As everyone else has already said...well, i just feel like saying it too,

you will be fine. I run three case fans and cpu fan off my 350watt Antec PSU...blue leds and everything.

I seriously doubt that a 250w could handle this. ATI recommends a 300w or 350w power supply for 9700 PRO's, and that is without all of these high powered fans.

Once again, thanks for all of the input. It really puts my mind at ease knowing that I can still add more stuff to my system without worrying about power.

way too lazy to read entire thread, but to answer orginal question...your 430 is an overkill, at most a 350, you would be fine with 250-350 though.

That depends on the bag of chips...

A bag full of Athlon XP2800+s for example, don't think so. hehe

512MB
RADEON 9700
Audigy 2
Sigma Designs DVD decoder
120GB 7200RPM
20GB 7200RPM
DVD-ROM
CD-RW
3.5" FLOPPY
6 system fans - 5 80mm - 1 45mm

One other thing, fans don't take that much power...about 1 watt. 80mm fans.....0.75A on 12V or 0.90W. You can probabaly save some cash and downgrade your PSU.

No Problem - I have a very similar system but with 3 SCSI hard drives. an I am using a no-name generic $23 - 400w dual fan power supply. I never had a power or cooling issue.
