Here is what I have currently:
Athlon XP 1900
Abit KR7A
786mb Crucial PC2100
Radeon 9700 PRO
Maxtor 60gb 7200rpm
Samsung 32x10x40
Floppy Drive
Hercules Fortissimo II Sound Card
Netgear NIC
D-Link Wireless NIC
Delta 80cfm 80mm fan
Dual 120mm Delta 130cfm fans
Dual Cold Cathode Light
Antec TRU430

I want to add an 80mm 84cfm Vantec Tornado and either a 120mm or a 92mm Quad LED fan. Will my PSU be able to handle all of these fans? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Are you planning on coing the heck out of the chip???? I think it should be enough...Besides fans you are not overly drive heavy and thus my 430watt could run my old 1.6a@2.74ghz at 1.71v with 4 drives, 3 fans, multiple usb devices, Radeon AIW card, etc...

I get the consensus that people generally underestimate the ability of PSUs these days.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I have seen people running like a RAID setup with a dvd-rom and cd-rw and still be ok, but I wanted to make sure before I bought another $20 in fans.

And yes, I am planning on cooling this thing to the best of my abilites. Plus a Quad Blue LED fan would look great on my right side panel. It looks so plain and boring right now. :(

Unless your cold cathode takes a lot of power, then you could probably run that system on a 300-330W power supply. Here is a chart i found a while ago that gives typical power requirements. It only has power requirements for older vid cards and processors, but you can find those requirements all over the place. A fast Athlon/P4 should be about 50-70W i think. I think a high power video card should use about 35-50W, I'll have to check later.

That's a really good Power Supply you have there. You should run everything with no problem.

I have seen PSU do great with tons of device and then start ocing and they couldn't hold their rails.....

My 350watt antec ran my 1.6@2.74ghz as well, but I noticed the 12v rail was starting to get lower and lower when I started jacking up the vcore would go from 11.94v to 11.68v under load...threw in the antec 430 and the 12v rail went to +12.1v and loaded to 12.04v...

I knew the 350 wouldn't get me to 3ghz+ safely without being a possible pain...I jumped to 430watt and I think that will be sufficient to mid to high 3ghz with my current set of extra...

My friend has a similiar system to mine. This is what he runs on a 520W Vantec Stealth Power Supply:

Epox 8rda+
Athlon XP 2100+ @ 2.40 GHz - vcore 1.9 I think
SLK-800 w/ Vantec Tornado
Radeon 9500 @ 9700 Modded
2x512MB PC3200 Samsung (I think)

And here is where it gets interesting

RaidRocket 404 Card
4x30GB 7200RPM in Raid 1/0
1x120GB 5200RPM

Then he has TONS of external stuff (his comp looks awesome, im tryin to mimick his wit my new one):

Lite-on DVD-Rom
Lite-on CD/RW
DigitalDoc5
4port rheobus
floppy
zip drive
3 lazer UV LED's
4 total 80MM case fans (2 back, 2 front)

And with all this, his system runs stable..... so stable that im jealous. But it goes to show how much these power supplies can handle, granted, that the Vantec 520W is the most powerful mainstream PS, but even so... He prob hasnt even come close to reaching the maximum ability of the PS. Ive seen people with speciality 700W power supplies and stuff... makes me laugh.

No problems here with that psu... check my specs below ;)

700 MHz Celeron in an HP with 2 HD's, Geforce 4 mx pci with tv out, network card, and Philips Acoustic Edge sound card.... no problem on the stock 100 Watt PSU ;)

Antec TruePower = absolutely awesome. I have a TP330 in my system, which is a P4 1.8A@2.61GHz/1.62v

More=better. Not really. That PSU should have absolutely no problems whatsoever.

Antec = Quality.

Before I bought this Antec I had owned probably 10 generic power supplies, and within a year 8 of them died and needed to be RMA'd. I have never once had a problem with this thing, and I have had it for probably 8 months now.

I responded to another forum member that asked a similar question, ran through some VERY quick numbers on current draw, you may want to take a look at this thread.

sorry but it is in my room. like 10 feet from where i sleep. i really dont notice it.

the Tornado is runnin on teh 7V line cause my roomate complains. it wouldent be as loud if he let me put it on teh other side of the room so teh fans didnt face out into teh room. if they faced towards a wall it would be better

my TP330 handles more than that. sheesh, people think they need these huge power supplies to run everything
