Will Microsoft and Adobe merge in the future?

With Microsoft and Adobe now in a cloud partnership, does anyone think this could mean a potential merger of the two companies in the future?

After all, both companies share a common adversary (Apple). I know many Apple fanboys would love to see an Adobe/Apple merger, however, I don't see Adobe willingly merging with Apple since they compete in a lot of aspects; the only way I would see Apple buying out Adobe is via a hostile takeover bid, and even that might face scrutiny with federal regulators due to how the two companies have a lot of overlap.

With a Microsoft/Adobe merger, I expect that they will continue to develop and support the Creative Cloud software for both Windows and Mac. On the other hand, an Apple/Adobe merger would probably make the Creative Cloud software Mac-only, which could create some scrutiny with regulators.

Didn't read the post, but the topic title premise sounds plausible.

Would mean Microsoft's efforts with Silverlight were even more pointless in hindsight.

Adobe is an evil corporation. As much as people hate on M$, they never were truly evil because it's tough to be the OS and their pricing for office products crushed what Corel and Lotus used to charge. I'm not happy about them buying up Digital Foxpro for the sake of killing it off to help MSSQL thrive, but what can you do?

Photoshop and Premier are good products. Other than that, I want to see Adobe fail miserably and sink to the bottom of the ocean.
