With Microsoft and Adobe now in a cloud partnership, does anyone think this could mean a potential merger of the two companies in the future?
After all, both companies share a common adversary (Apple). I know many Apple fanboys would love to see an Adobe/Apple merger, however, I don't see Adobe willingly merging with Apple since they compete in a lot of aspects; the only way I would see Apple buying out Adobe is via a hostile takeover bid, and even that might face scrutiny with federal regulators due to how the two companies have a lot of overlap.
With a Microsoft/Adobe merger, I expect that they will continue to develop and support the Creative Cloud software for both Windows and Mac. On the other hand, an Apple/Adobe merger would probably make the Creative Cloud software Mac-only, which could create some scrutiny with regulators.
