Someone would need to be a heavy daily toker for awhile, leading up to the very last toke, to test positive 30 days after.

OK, but what this sounds like is a situation where the person being tested has had nothing but the occasional bowl passed around every few weekends, and that person has nothing to worry about in his case.

You must be talking about some 9 bowl-a-day, wake-and-bake daily smokers here, if they really tested positive 2 full months after quitting. Wow!

Detection times vary - but this is a rough guide for urine tests. Some tests are more sensitive than others.

Single use: 2 days
Weekly use: 4-6 days (after last use)
Daily use: 10-14 days
Long-term heavy daily use: 4-6 weeks

Other tests such as hair may be positive for 6 months or more.

... a month after use?

go to gnc & get clear tabs.follow the directions closely.
i forget the exact name of the product, just ask for clear tabs..they should be around $40 bucks.

no. see my friend smoked a month ago. and hasnt since then. his parents (psychotic christian baptists... NOT generalizing) think he's doing drugs so they tested him today. he peed in a cup and they're sending it off. is he gonna get fvcked?

So lemme get this straight, his parents think he's doing drugs (which he is), but he says he's not even though he is? What a way to stand up and be a man!

Heh, that's kind of funny you say that... I was in GNC just yesterday looking at the Atkins diet stuff and a kid walked in with two friends and said "So you got any of those pee pill that show if the week I smoked will show up in my pee?"

He was turning all red and his friends were laughing at him. Quite hilarious...

"My friend" Uh huh, and my dog ate my paperwork, and oh yeah my GF lives in Canada

Ok, I heard that 90 days is the cut off period for hair test, is this true? If you aren't a heavy smoker, but maybe 4 - 5 times a week, and you have short hair, could they detect it?

From everything I've ever heard, a month is generally about as long as you need to get weed out of your system. Drinking lots of water can help flush your system out, and cranberry juice is also supposed to work well. I've seen these cleaner drinks at head shops before that you can drink with some water about 2-3 hours before you get tested and supposedly clears your system for the test.

Of course, you could always do something like Ricky did in American Beauty... 😀

the testing labs look for this sort of "cheat" the chemicals in those drinks are detectable, as for the cranberry juice and water that doesn't work either as for hair, THC can be detected in the hair...if you smoke and have hair, no matter the time length the test for hair will come up positivem the only way to beat it is stop smoking AND cut your hair off.As I said ifyour a heavy (daily) smoker it CAN be detected for up to 60 days. Not only that but since it attaches itself to your fat cells it is possible to detect it for years after quitting under the right situation.I heard of a nurse that was in the process of losing weight, had quit 2 years earlier and came up positive. The only thing that saved her was the hair test.As she lost weight fat cells were lost (eliminated) which is why she tested + in the pee test, but since she had quit, the hair test showed that she actually had quit

read on the chemstry of thc. overgrow.com is the most comprehensive cannibus database ever assembled.

thc has a halflife of about 8-12 days.
but if you only smoked once its probaly way below detectable levels

edit: i just read through all the posts and some have merit. i beilive the one above talks about some guy who tested positive 2 years later. that is possible. thc is alchol/lipid soluable. you could easily get some on your fat in your body, and then put more fat on, then take fat off and have it still be there. make sense?

another edit: thc is not stored in the hair buddy 🙂
here is more info on a hair test: http://www.stopthedrugwar.org/chronicle/236/hairtest.shtml

FYI, THC is not water soluble, which means you can drink water all day every day and it isn't going to "flush" your system. It may dillute your test if you drink a lot of water that day and voila you are below the cutoff. Best way to get THC out of your system is exercise and sweat. Or you can gamble and just get one of those drinks that mask it. Most places don't test for masking substances. Especially if it is your parents sending the test away to some shady place. I continued to test positive for THC for over 1 month after I got busted and stopped smoking.
