There's a decent deal on the Elite Duo over in Hot Deals, but I don't want the mouse...I already have an MX700.

I also don't want two receivers...will the keyboard communicate and work with my MX700 receiver/base? Thx

Unless someone else has this combo working, I think your best bet would be to contact Logitech and see if they both operate on the same frequency. If they do, you should be able to use the same reciever.

From email from Logitech which I just received:
The MX700 mouse and charging base/receiver unit must be used exclusively together as a set. If you wish to use another cordless device in addition to MX700 mouse, you will need to use separate receivers for the two devices. This is because the MX 700 uses Fast RF Technology and is only compatible with a C-BF16-MSE cordless receiver. Other Logitech cordless devices will not be able to communicate with the MX 700 receiver and vice versa.
Darn it...but the news isn't all bad...
Shortly Logitech will release a Cordless keyboard combination that includes the MX 700 and the Cordless Elite keyboard.

This is already available, there is a thread in Hot Deals about it at Staples.

Odd...couldn't find a damn thing about it at logitech dot com...Google returned nothing, too. Still, about $60 more than I hoped to spend...

why would it matter? u need the mx700 base as its charging station anyways. usb hubs are cheap is your really straining for usb ports:p not tometnion the elite set in hotdeals uses the old 50hz laggy transmitter.

Not seeing your point, OrooOroo. The MX700 standalone has a recharging base for the mouse, the Elite Duo MX has a visibly identical recharging base for the same mouse...but the standalone can't do keyboard connectivity, while the Duo MX can.

Not concerned about USB ports. Am concerned about more crap sitting around my station. Already have a powered hub plus several open ports on the mobo. And considering the first half of your reply, I don't understand your argument about the "laggy transmitter"...nothing in this thread or ...this product description sez anything about it that I could find...
