Will a K6/2 350mhz cpu set the 2x multiplier as 6x? Or only 400mhz and above have that feature? I have a old socket7 board that supports 75mhz and 83mhz fsb. Wanted to put a 350mhz 2.2v K6/2 cpu in it. Wondering if the 2x multiplier setting will = the 6x setting. I am not sure at what speed AMD started that feature? I guess with the CTX core? I do not know. Thanks for any help.

I'm quite rusty on my K6-x knowlage, but I think you are right about the CTX core. If memory serves me right that core started at 350 MHz, but not all 350 MHz K6's are CTX.

I did try to dig up some old articles that might shed some lite on this, so far all I have been able to find is AMD's site that says model 8, stepping 8 is remapped.

Thanks for the reply. I am having a hard time finding the right info for the 350mhz too.
