I have a question about the system I am getting today....
These are its specs :
Intel Pentium 4 3.4 Ghz
1 Gig of ram
ATI X300 PCI EXPRESS



can that run doom 3 on high settings ?
what can it do ....

If you want to play Doom 3, do not buy a videocard based on the x300 unless you like playing a graphically beautiful game at 640x480 and low graphical quality.

 
Good processor, but really bad graphic card.

It's like having one of the best air force fighter pilots piloting a banana boat.
 
Expect low to medium details @640X480/800X600. 25-30FPSish average.

If you want better, you'll definitely have to drop that videocard.
 
It sounds like you may want to go PCI-Express. In that case, go for the 6600 GT if possible and get that... it supposidly will blow the competition out of the water. But as was said, do not get an x300... that's just suicide. 😛
