Will it reach?

I heard that the Fortron 400w supply has a pretty short wires and I was wondering are the wires long enough for the P180 since the power supply is mounted on the bottom of the case?

Which do you already have? the PSU or the Case? You need a PSU will above average length in cables to reach. If you already have the case and need a PSU, can you post your specs?

I plan to buy both of them for my new budget rig but I'm not sure if it will reach the hard drives and CD drives from the bottom of the case.

Thanks Telos. I may go with that S12.

But first, I'd like to hear what other people have to say about the Fortron wires in the P180.

I have a P180 and a S12 430w. IT DOES NOT WORK. the 8pin 12v power connector is not long enough. I have to go buy an extension for it on monday. My mobo is the D975XBX.

Really? I know on at least 2 occasions I have heard people say that the S12 has long enough connections. Maybe that is just for the 500W+ models.

The main concern for reach is the main 24 pin connector. What is your planned rig? spec wise.

It was the 4-pin ATX CPU power cable that got me. Asus M2N-E and Antec SmartPower PSU.

I think it will judging from the motherboard as the case is BTX design and the motherboard will go upside down looking at the pictures of the motherboard it looks like the 20 pin and 4 pin connectors are close. i'd do some research to find out for sure if it fit for sure though if you could find out the cable length of the wires and maybe other power supplies with similar or smaller cables that have been used.
