Will i see a FPS difference?

Which specific games would those be...?

For what it's worth, I notice an increase in frames per second when I lower my resolution from 1680x1050 to something around 1280x1024...mostly because I use Vsync and the number of drops to 30fps greatly lessens.

(6800GT/2.4GHz Athlon XP here)

Uhhh what do you think???
1600x1200 - 1,920,000
1280x1024 - 1,310,720

Thats a little bit more then 600,000 pixels more it has to push out...

More than likely all the games you just listed IE new ones will have a bit worse performance, though it will look alot prettier.

a 2405 is a 24" monitor.... It uses 1920x1200 as a resolution which is 16:10 not 4:3.
1920x1200 is even more stressful than 1600x1200 not only because of more pixels but becuase of its Field of View. You can force thr 2405 to use 1600x1200 just fine and use black bars on the side similar to a 20".

At anyrate I ran a 6800GT and used 1920x1200 just fine in most games.
