Will I notice a difference...CPU comparrison

Hello folks

I'm going to be doing a build soon, but I was wondering what difference I would notice in CPU choices.

I'm a gamer, currently playing the new Star Wars MMO. I don't really play another other PC games.

The build I was looking at was going to have this CPU...

But I'm thing of this one too....

So, can anyone tell me if the extra $110 is worth the i7 over the i5?

Thanks for taking the time to explain any differences/advantages, either way!

I7-K has 2mb more cache and hyper threading. I would go with the I5 but get the 2500K version. K denotes unlocked multiplier in both i7 and i5 lines.

he is correct BUT tc what cpu do you have now?
SWTOR is actually super lightweight, almost as lightweight as WoW. as a rule of thumb if you can max an unreal engine game you can play SWTOR on high or better. im serious here you can probably max the thing on a P-DC e5400 and an hd 4830

Get the 2500k, you'll get the most out of the chip via multipliers and you can spend the extra $100 on a better video card which is far more practical than the few extra mhz/ht on the 2700k. You won't notice a difference between the 2500k and 2700k, but you definitely don't want to buy a i5-2400. Its multiplier locked so if you ever want to overclock you won't be able to easily.
