Will I notice a 300MHz increase?

Hey guys, running my Opty 165 at 2.52GHz @ 1.3v on water, which means I never get above 33/34C. Question being would I notice a 300MHz increase in gaming and such. I ask because I'll most likely have this chip for awhile to come, I don't want to be too hard on it.

Thoughts?

It may give you a few frames per second more, but not very noticeable. What voltage do you have to give it to get the extra 300?

1.47-1.5 And temps are about 10c higher on load. Which still isn't bad I suppose.

Personally, I would stick with your current overclock. 300 mhz is not worth a .17 or .2 increase in votlage to me. Some may say that its on water and 1.5 is perfectly safe, but my opty runs 2.52 with 1.35 volts and it takes about the same increase voltage that your does to go up to 2.7. I run mine at 2.52 also.

How much voltage does it take you to do 200mhz more?
Either way, you won't notice it in games.

dude just stick with current setup, easier on ur memory, less things to go wrong. You will not notice much improvement for sure.. Trust me, better b safe than sorry. Even tho its my vid card I fried with o/c i had to wait 3 weeks to rma So b safe folks u don't want to wait weeks/w ever for rma.. (that is if u actually can get rma for ur opty, since its designed for server not gaming as amd would classify it)

My thoughts are just the opposite of most here, I would at the very least run it at 1.4V and maybe this will give you 2650-2700.

Whats the point in spending all that money on a water setup if your not going to push your chip a little.

Not in games, not typically. It'll make a bigger impact on CPU-intensive tasks like encoding, compiling, etc.

i noticed about an average of 20 frames increase in COD2 going from 2.35 to 2.7 ghz. This is from an AMD 64 3000+ with a x850 xt card. I figured the difference would be minimal also but certain games stress the CPU more than others. If you tested it in some artificial benches, the difference would be minimal (3d mark).

why not just run it like 200mhz higher or 100mhz higher at 1.4-1.45V
