Will I have trouble playing upcoming PC games with my GTX 1080?

Will I run into any trouble playing upcoming PC games(Watch Dogs:Legion,Cyberpunk 2077,and Assassin's Creed Valhalla are the 3 I'm wondering about..)

I'm currently running a GTX 1080,paired up with an AMD Ryzen 3700X,and 32 GB of DDR4.

My power supply is a PC Power & Cooling Turbo-Cool 1200 from January 2013 that is still going strong over 7 1/2 years later...)

Some of these games recommend a RTX card(or its upcoming AMD equivalent) to play smoothly.

Are there any reasons I can't play these games with my GTX 1080? (In terms of features missing from my 1080 that a 3070,or a AMD 6800 would have built-in).

Thanks.

(I'm eventually, when prices drop and more cards are in stock, going to upgrade to either a RX 6800,or a RTX 3070.)

Thanks. Thought I'd ask.

I’d wait on the upgrade I am confident you’ll be fine running those on above medium settings. I am not confident ray tracing will make that much of a difference mainly because features like those tend to be over sold and under delivered but maybe I’ll be proven wrong.
Regardless if the purchase is for specific games it is best to wait until the games launch to see what performance can be expected and god knows how long a game may be delayed thus making the purchase now a waste. Particularly when there easily could be “super” versions of this cards within the year.

You must be joking. That is still an ex-beast that can bite. I'm rocking 1060 6gb with i3-3230 upgraded to old i7-3770.

If I had your aging rig, I'd confidently look forward to playing cyberpunk. I now have to upgrade.

-The biggest item left out of your specs is the resolution and refresh rate of your monitor. That's a huge part of what determines whether your specs are up to par.

If you are looking to play newer games at 1080p or 1440p at 60fps, then your 1080 is still a very capable card.

If you're looking to play at 4k or the lower resolutions at 144FPS or higher then you'll either have to really dial down settings and maybe in need of an upgrade.

At 1080p you will be fine but just miss out on some features for now. At 1440p you will certainly have to lower some settings in the demanding games. What constitutes enough gpu power can vary wildly. My 2060 Super is more than enough for most games at 1440p but some require a lot of settings to be reduced just to maintain 60 fps.

i'm on the same boat. i got a used GTX1080 since it was twice as fast as my previous GTX680.
only now the 3070/3080 are twice as fast as my 1080, so maybe next year i'll upgrade again.

anyways, the 1080 still manages very well even at 1440p but i don't play the most demanding games.

I think you will be fine. You won't be able to max out all the settings, that's for sure. If you want the best frame rates you will need to modify some stuff, but shouldn't be a big deal. Don't become spoiled like me and want to max everything out because that will just cost you more money when you want to upgrade lol.

I'm using a Samsung 32-inch S32D850 1440p 60Hz LCD.

-Your 1080 will still play games just fine on that monitor. You will start missing out on Ray-Tracing as it slowly becomes more incorporated into games but that's not a huge issue at the moment.

Honestly with the demand/stock situation with the new graphics cards, in some ways it's best to just accept that no upgrades are happening until Spring/summer of 2021(if not later) and just let go.
