Will I have to get a new Power Supply?

I was thinking about getting the 6800gt and maybe another 120gb hard drive as an upgrade. But I was wondering if my Antec 300 watt power supply still has the juice left in it.

My system:
p4 2.6c
asus p4c800 deluxe
1gb of ram
ti4200 (gunna be 6800gt)
tv tuner card
dvdrom, cdrom
7200rpm 60gb harddrive
74gb raptor
5 case fans.

dont forget that other things are being powered by your PSU other than the video and hdd. jump up to a 5, 550 or 6 (if a 6 is even out/ also a good brand name and one that is HEAVY)!! I dont think you'll have to worry with any i've stated.

It's highly recommended that you at LEAST get a 340 watt PS.

From who? Or by who?

Quality over quantity..

Even though a 6800GT does recommend a 350, give a shot and see.. Antec makes a hell of PSU

Im running..

1400+@2.4ghz
6800 GT ( Ultra Speeds )
80GB WDD
40GB
12X Lite on
48x Liteon
2 Cold Cathodes
3 Case Fans ( LED )

Oh ya, Sparkle 350..

Mmm, sorry, I didn't know brands determined wattage as well. =0þ

I should note this when I finally build my comp.

Brands don't determine watts, but some brands actually supply the watts rated by the PSU. Good supplies like Antec at say, 300 watts, will perform better than a generic supply rated at 450 (for example).

Quality is important.

If you have to upgrade your 300W make sure you get the biggest and the baddest of them all. Antec, Enermax, Fortron, etc with a 400-500 W rating. In this case, you can keep using it almost forever or entil a new breed of PSU comes out. To go from 300 to 400 is almost like a waste of money. Might as well go for something bigger.
