Will I have enough juice?

I just bought a 9800 pro and I was just wondering/hoping I would have enough juice to power it. My friend has a 9800 non-pro and a 250 watt ps in his dell. I have a 300W antec power supply. Is that enough?

I doubt that SL350 has enough +12v power to power a 9800 Pro, plus a fast processor. But then again, you didn't mention what processor it's going to be pushing.

edit: And if you're using any Antec motherboard, then that doesn't apply to you, since all of their socket A mobo's power the proc. through the +5v rail.

should be enuf. I have the 250watts in my dell 8300 too and I have 9800pro overclocked to 426/366. It runs fine.

One thing I should mention tho is that dell underrates its psu, the 250watts is actaully 305watts.

you should be fine, i would assume
although i had problems with a 300W Antec not supplying enough juice once... I went to a 400 and probs went away 🙂

It might boot up and go into Window successfully, but that doesn't mean everything is ok. You might get more BSOD, crashes, random reboots, and other problems by insufficient PS. Do yourself a favor, if you can afford a 9800Pro, spend another $50 and get a decent PS.
