I have the VGA silencer on the board for cooling.. the clock rate i put on my signature was just the max i used. I don't use this clock rate all the time..

The card is almost certainly fried anyway so the point is moot. Replacing the power connectors won't do anything about the original reason for the high current.

First of all, a burnt pin isn't fixed by simply replacing it. Something made it burn. I doubt they fix it at all, prolly just send a replacement.

I'm kinda suprised people are not flaming as hard as usual . Well good luck and I hope ya get a replacement and everyything. I personally would have sent it in for replacement because it was in fact not the overclocking or anything you did that caused the card to die, it was just defective and had something else wrong with it. If it were my fault that something died then I would not send it in because I know the risks I take when doing this sort of stuff, and I hope most would agree with that.

Also, if you are looking for a new card look at the x800xl, I have heard nothing but good things about this and it would help you avoid the nVidia side of things for a good price/performance ratio. Although I do love my 6800GT there was just something about my 9800 Pro that I miss.

I think it's less likely that the cause of failure here is the BIOS flash, so people are cutting him slack. I think there is a good possibility it was not necessarily related to the BIOS flash.

In the auto industry you have rights to warantee even if you modify your car, provided the modifications are not related to the manufacturer defect. To blanket void your claim to a clutch failure because you replaced your stereo is not legal, for instance. So I can see why there may be more leniency in this case.

Rollo would reply to this but I have a feeling that the mods have told him that if he gets his nose into another one of these situations he will be banned unconditionally.

This situation is more blatant than what went down with GeForce Tony (the OP is admitting to committing warranty fraud).

I'm guessing that Rollo has set up some kind of active restraint system to prevent hitting the "reply" button.
