Will I be ok with 3200 & A8N Sli?

Will I be ok with a 3200 A8N SLI? I'm just trying to save some money when I build my next computer. I will probably wait until I get some more money to upgrade the processor later(heck, i might even get a 2800 or a 3000). I just wanted to make sure that performance wise I'll be set to go to do my usual things(HL2, usual everday multi-taskin, i guess what most people do).

I'm only lookin' to spend maybe around $800 to get started. I thought about just a A8N SLI, a 2800-3200 A64 processor, 1gb corsair value ram, and maybe just a 6600 pci-e(i don't really care about latest graphcis...bang for the buck is what i'm lookin' for).

I will lower the ram to 512mb if i have to to cut costs. I can always upgrade to 1gb later.

Yeah you'll be ok, but why get such an expensive board if you want inexpensive parts? If you must upgrade to a socket 939 and PCI Express, get a single slot board.

If you're not concerned about graphics and looking for the best bang for the buck don't get an SLI motherboard.

You can buy a 3200+ Socket 939, Nforce 4 motherboard, 1 Gig for RAM and a 6600GT PCI-e for around $650.00

Or can buy a 3200+ Socket 939, Nforce 3 motherboard, 1 Gig for RAM and a 6600GT AGP for around $600.00

Or you can buy a 3200+ Socket 754, Nforce 3 motherboard, 1 Gig for RAM and a 6600GT AGP for around $550.00

Or can buy a 3200+ Socket 939, Nforce 3 motherboard, 1 Gig for RAM and a 6800GT AGP for around $800.00

Or can buy a 3200+ Socket 939, Nforce 4 motherboard, 1 Gig for RAM and a 6800GT PCI-e for around $900.00

Or you can buy a 3200+ Socket 754, Nforce 3 motherboard, 1 Gig for RAM and a 6800GT AGP for around $750.00

3200+ Winchester ($210 at MWave)
Chaintech VNF4-Ultra ($130) OR MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum ($160)
2x512MB Corsair Value RAM (you'll really want 1GB of RAM for gaming) ($140)
6600GT PCIe ($190)

This totals $670-700.

Well, I don't plan on keepin' the 6600 forever or anything. And i also mentioned upgrading the processor eventually, but I wanted to get like the motherboard now and what not. I plan on 4000+ and dual 6800's(maybe x850?). I have a lot of cash comming in in about 4-5 months, but I want to get it built and ready to go now. And i have some extra money I can just throw together something cheaper right now instead of getting all the parts.

I already have 754. check the sig.

I don't want to get a mobo without SLI now and have to buy another one later. I can just sell the old processor and GPU when I decide to get the rest of the parts.

You won't be able to us 2 X850 on an SLI boad in SLI mode.

If you're willing to wait you should. I'm sure newer and better technology will become available in a few months that will make the upgrade from your current system well worth the wait. The system you're planning right now is not much better than your current system. If you really want an upgrade that you'll notice immediately get a new Graphics card. Otherwise wait till you're 100% ready and get it all at once. You'll be glad you did.
