Will I be able to use my Nexus 5 in Asia?

I'm going to Thailand next week, and I was wondering if I will be able to use my Nexus 5. I am using a sim card from T-mobile and they told me that if I want to use their service it's going to cost $2.50 a minute. Screw that!

My plan is to take out the sim card when I touch down in Bangkok. I will then purchase a sim card from a local phone carrier. I don't know what band they use and if it's going to be compatible with the band in my phone.

Also will Google Music work in Thailand as well? I have my Google Music subscription and I'd like to use it in Thailand.

Finally, I'm going to South Korea in September. So will it work there as well?

Thanks.

Should work since it's unlocked. Went to Taiwan last year with my Nexus 4. Bought a SIM card, and it worked.

It used to be near-impossible for a tourist to get a SIM in Korea. Not sure if this is still the case.

And I guess you're on T-Mo prepaid? Because postpaid gives you free international data, though only at EDGE speed.

You can get a SIM now. It happened in the past year or so, but you can order one online and pick it up at the airport now
